Statement of Faith
We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writing, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the Divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life (2 Tim 3:16-17; Matt 5:18; 1 Pet 1:21).
We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Gen 1:1; Deut 6:4; Matt 3:16-17; Acts 5:3-4; Col 2:9).
We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:31-32) and born of the Virgin Mary (Matt 1:23-25). His death and resurrection (1 Cor 15:17) provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe. Those who receive Jesus Christ (John 1:12) are born of the Holy Spirit (John 3:3-5) , and thus become the children of God.
We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify Jesus Christ (John 16:14), and during this age to convict men (John 16:8), regenerate the believing sinner [John 3:5-6], indwell (1 Cor 6:19), guide (John 16:12-14), instruct (1 Cor 2:12-14), and empower (Gal 5:16-18) the believer for godly living and service.
We believe that man was created in the image of God (Gen 1:26-27) but fell into sin (Gen 3:1-6) and is therefore lost (Rom 5:12). Only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained (John 3:3-5). We are united together in the body of Christ, the Church, of which He is the Head (Eph 1:22-23).
